Welcome PJ!

Once you’ve met the woman of your dreams, picking up and moving from the Dominican Republic to Egg Harbor Township doesn’t seem like much of a daunting task. Such was the case for our newest Warehouse Associate, Pedro “PJ” Martinez.

Cape Beverage Operations Manager Justin Vitti liked that PJ brought with him over a decade of experience in a warehouse environment — and he told us so in Spanish.

“Pedro aporta más de diez años de experiencia trabajando en un almacén en República Dominicana,” he said, confusing the staff at Straight to the Pint. “Se centró en el control de inventario y en el manejo de todas las solicitudes entrantes y salientes. Aunque no es una cerveza específica, se adapta perfectamente al ajetreado tráfico de nuestro almacén.”

(Thank goodness for Google Translate.)

Cape Beverage Warehouse Manager Craig Tropp likes having PJ around, as well.

“Pedro being here is integral to getting all the trucks out on time in the morning,” he says. “He brings us music that we would have never heard before, including his own produced works.”

Welcome PJ!

Welcome Marcus!

It’s grueling work, but our Distribution Specialists — the folks out there delivering our beer to our accounts — are truly the unsung heroes of Cape Beverage. After all, without them, we’d be sitting on a lot of beer, and you folks out there would be mighty thirsty.

So, when Marcus came to interview, we were lucky that it was pretty obvious that he’d fit right in.

“Without even realizing it, Marcus embodied many of our Core Values during his initial interview,” says Cape Beverage Operations Manager Justin Vitti. “The atmosphere in the room around him was totally Fun, and it was almost as if he was a longtime friend, simply hanging out in the conference room. He was Direct, Honest, and Respectful in responses to some really difficult interview questions. His positive and cheerful attitude makes him a great fit within the complexities of the Distribution team at Cape Beverage.”

Welcome Paul!

Just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were looking for a Sales Representative to cover our Middlesex-Mercer-Hunterdon-Somerset territory. At the time, we didn’t know how the world would be changing a few weeks later, and, in hindsight, bringing on the wrong person could have been disastrous.

Luckily, we found the right person: Paul Minore.

“He’s been in the business for years, and he knows his stuff,” says Director of Sales Bill Zaninelli. “And he knows Jersey, too. He trained for two days and took over the route without a problem, hitting the ground running. He’s signed accounts that we couldn’t get before. Our clients like him because he gives them personalized service — he’s a good communicator. We’ve got a great team in the northern part of the state, and he fit right in.

“He’s our quiet assassin. He’s everything I would want in a Sales Representative.”

Welcome Paul Minore!
