Regional Sales Manager New Jersey

The Regional Sales Manager New Jersey is responsible for driving sales volume through their sales teams to their markets' respective account base, and growing sales and market share through building strong relationships with key accounts. The Regional Sales Manager New Jersey will spend approximately 80% of their time in retail execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represent Cape Beverage at on and off-premise accounts 
  • Builds, manages, and strengthens relationships with the people around them including sales and marketing teams and key customer accounts.
  • Meets with key clients to maintain relationships, make presentations to introduce products, provide service and solve problems, negotiate and increase sales
  • Surveys market area to detect business trends and opportunities for new products or new applications for existing products 
  • Assists in the development of sales forecasts
  • Develops and executes a strategy for key customers that will drive volume and growth and maximize opportunities for the customer
  • Initiate brand strategies for flagship, seasonal, and limited release brands including suggesting targeted PTCs and shelf position at retail
  • Plans for sales activities by forecasting conditions, defining objectives and strategies, and securing resources
  • Ensures execution of team quotas and orders 
  • Controls performance by measuring and reporting results, evaluating and correcting performance, and administering policies and procedures
  • Translating and sharing with the Sales and Marketing teams’ brand strategies into executable plans
  • Build & execute Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Plans to achieve Annual Market Goals for wholesalers and sales representatives
  • Implements key customer initiatives within the craft beer section and beer segment
  • Oversees communication between all relevant stakeholders to support and drive disciplined execution of key account programs and/or objectives
  • Develops and leverages understanding of targeted commercial and craft segment to drive understanding of customer issues and potential solutions, leading to becoming supplier-of-choice for key and strategic customers
  • Maintain self-education on brands and the craft beer industry in general
  • Prepare monthly documentation on time in a neat, legible, and professional manner
  • Identifies potential brands for inclusion to the Cape Beverage portfolio
  • Creates evaluation tool for potential brand inclusion
  • Develops distribution/volume goals for seasonal rollouts and new markets
  • Investigates and resolves customer issues
  • Plan and participate in regular training activities including presenting at sales meetings


  • 5+ years experience in beverage sales with a brewery, wholesaler or retailer (or similar relevant business experience)
  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and a reliable automobile
  • Prior experience with a wholesaler and distributor with multiple brands
  • Comfort with brewery sales technology
